How can I maximize battery life? Can I use rechargeables?

Doxie Flip's AA batteries last for about 200 scans @ 300 dpi. We think that's excellent for most users.

There's a few things that can reduce battery life below this rating:

• Scanning everything at 600 dpi
• Leaving Doxie on for long periods of time without scanning

If you do a lot of 600 dpi scans, or have particularly big projects, consider some eneloop brand rechargeable batteries. They come pre-charged, recharge quickly, and offer even greater battery life per charge. For huge projects, consider two sets: charge one set while using the other.
