Advanced Options

Scanning with Doxie Go is easy -- just insert your sheet to store your page to built-in memory.

There's a few advanced options, if you'd like to use them.

Memory

Doxie has built-in memory to store your scans. You can store about 450 scans in memory before needing to import into the Doxie software (or more if your Doxie has built-in Wi-Fi). Like a digital camera, your scans are cleared from the device after import, leaving space for new scans.

If you’d prefer to scan to external memory, insert the device in the appropriate slot on the back of the scanner before scanning. Doxie uses external devices as a priority over its internal memory. To switch back to scanning to internal memory, just remove the memory card.

Scanning Resolution

Doxie scans at 300 dpi by default (green). Tap the power button briefly to switch to 600 dpi (orange).

600 dpi is higher quality, but much slower, and results in substantially larger file sizes. As a rule of thumb, 300 dpi is really just fine for most purposes. 600 dpi is most often suited to photos.

External Power

Doxie's battery lasts for about 300 scans before you need to recharge. If your Doxie has built-in Wi-Fi, turn off Wi-Fi when you're not using it to save power.

Doxie is a standalone scanner -- that is, it's not designed for use while connected to your computer via USB. You can use Doxie while connected to the included power adapter, which allow you to scan endlessly while Doxie's battery charges up.
