Automatic cropping and rotation

Doxie has automatic rotation and edge trimming (cropping) features that are on by default. However, if you put your documents in at a significant angle, or if your document contains a large amount of black or a dark color, these features may not always work the way you expect.

Doxie's automatic rotation feature looks for slight rotational offsets and attempts to correct them (i.e. when you insert the sheet a bit crooked). You can manually adjust the automatic rotation by double clicking your scan to open the Adjustments pane.

Doxie also automatically attempts to trim the edges of your scan, so you don't have to "prescan" or draw a scanning box like you might need to on a traditional flatbed scanner. If your picture has large areas of black or a very dark color, however, automatic trimming may be inaccurate. You can manually adjust the cropping on each side by double clicking your scan to open the Adjustments pane.
