How do I move my scans in the Doxie app to a new computer?

The scans that you've downloaded into Doxie's software are stored in a Library file that is separate from the Doxie software itself. In order to move your scans, you'll need to move the Doxie Library file from your old computer to the new one.

  1. On your old computer, make sure Doxie's software is NOT running then grab a copy of the Doxie Library file - here's where the Doxie's Library file is located:

    Mac: /Users/yourname/Library/Application Support/Apparent/Doxie Library
    Windows: C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Apparent\Doxie Library

On a Mac, this is the user's Library folder – not any other library folder. The user's library folder might be hidden – here's how to show it.

  2. Save a copy of the Doxie Library file on a USB flash drive or SD card so you can move it to your new computer.

  3. Download and install Doxie's software on your new computer - download here.

  4. Launch Doxie's software on your new computer to initialize it. After it has launched, quit Doxie's software.

  5. On your new computer, make sure Doxie's software is NOT running and place a copy of the Doxie Library file at the same path as shown above.

  6. Launch Doxie's software again and your original scans will be loaded.

NOTE: Do not attempt to change the structure of the Doxie Library file. It's intended for internal use by the Doxie software. You can't change it's location, and attempting to do so is not recommended. Instead, save your scans where you want them from within the Doxie software.
