Installation for Windows 10

These instructions are for Windows 10. If you're using Windows 8.1, the newest version of Windows 8, follow these directions instead.

The original Doxie (model # DX100) USB scanner works with Windows 10, but requires a special driver installation. Just follow the directions below.

  1. Download and install Doxie 2.10.3 for Windows.
  2. Disconnect your Doxie from your computer (if not already disconnected).
  3. During installation, you'll be prompted to disconnect and reconnect Doxie -- this won't work, because the drivers haven't installed properly. Instead, leave your Doxie disconnected, and proceed to follow the steps below.
  4. Bring up the Start menu by moving the mouse to the lower left corner of the screen.
  5. Go to Settings.
  6. Click on "Update & security".
  7. Click on “Recovery” in the side menu.
  8. Under Advanced startup, click the "Restart Now" button and wait for your computer to reboot to a blue screen.
  9. Once your computer has restarted, click on “Troubleshoot”.
  10. Click on “Advanced options”.
  11. Click on “Startup Settings”.
  12. Click on “Restart” to restart your computer again.
  13. Press (7) Disable driver signature enforcement — Windows will start.
  14. Proceed to install Doxie's driver by clicking the appropriate link here: 32-bit Windows, 64-bit Windows. You'll get a pop up asking if it is ok to install a file from the internet – choose "Yes".
  15. The Doxie Setup Wizard will appear and walk you through installing the driver.
  16. You'll get warning about installing an uncertified driver choose “install this driver software anyway”.
  17. Plug in your Doxie via USB, then wait for the driver installation to complete.
  18. Launch the Doxie software, and you're ready to scan.
  19. Restart after finishing this process to re-enable driver signature enforcement.
