Original Doxie obsolete product status
Updated June 13th, 2019
In summer 2014, we stopped manufacturing the Original Doxie scanner (model DX100) in favor of our other terrific document scanner models.
I own an Original Doxie. What's this mean for me?
The Original Doxie is obsolete – we haven't made them in a number of years, and they now have limited support, in terms of hardware, customer service, and current operating system compatibility. There's a few options you have as the owner of an Original Doxie:
-
Read below on current compatibility, and see if you can get your existing Doxie up and running with this information.
-
Take advantage of our Doxie Obsolete Replacement Program, and get a brand new, fully supported Doxie at a discount.
Can I use my Original Doxie with my current computer?
Maybe. Here's where things stand as of the date this article was written:
-
Mac: The final Doxie software release that supports Original Doxie is version 2.10.3 - download here. Doxie 2.10.3 is fully compatible with the macOS 10.14 Mojave (the latest version of macOS as of the date this article was written), but might not support future versions of macOS after Mojave. We'd love to continue supporting the Original Doxie if we could, however, we are technically restricted from doing so, as the drivers that are required for this model to function may stop working after Mojave – they are 32-bit only drivers, and cannot be upgraded to 64-bit drivers which future macOS versions may require.
-
Windows: Original Doxie works with versions of Windows from Windows 7 up to but NOT including Windows 10 "Anniversary Update". Driver installation instructions here. As of Windows 10's "Anniversary Update", the drivers no longer function.
Can I get a new Doxie at a discount?
Absolutely - find out more about our Doxie Obsolete Replacement Program here.
How can I receive technical support or warranty service for my Doxie?
We have a very limited ability to provide support for Original Doxie due to its age. That said, this help website (the site you're on now) provides detailed setup, use, and troubleshooting information for your Doxie. Use the navigation bar on the left to access all of the information we do have available.
If you still need help with your Original Doxie, please feel free to contact Doxie Customer Care with your questions, with the understanding that we may be unable to help. Our ability to support the product due to its age is extremely limited but we will do our best.
Original Doxie models have not been sold for a number of years and are no longer covered under a manufacturer warranty.
