Why are my scans blank?

Doxie Pro defaults to scanning in "Smart Auto" mode, which scans both sides of a page and has an Auto Detect feature that is designed to automatically detect and remove any blank pages from a batch of scans before they're imported into the software.

If your document is particularly thin (like receipt paper), or has a unique texture, watermark, or other small markings, the scanner might register the text and images on the other side of the page and import the blank side in by mistake.

If you're scanning a lot of single-sided documents, we recommend creating a Custom Scanning Mode for one-sided (simplex) scanning. Here's an article explaining how to do this.

To remove blank pages from a stack of scans, select the stack in Doxie's software and click "Unstaple".

Next, simply hover your mouse over the blank scan and click the "X" to delete it from the software.

To staple your scans back together, hold down the Command/Control key and click each thumbnail to select it, then click "Staple".
