Set Internal Clock
Doxie Q has an internal clock that is used when setting the creation date of scan files. Most users – those who import scans into Doxie's app – do not need to set the internal clock. Other users who choose to access their scans directly from the SD card versus using the Doxie software may wish to set the internal clock so that scan files have the correct creation dates.
How do I set the clock?
- Make sure Doxie's SD card is properly inserted into Doxie's card slot.
- Turn on Doxie.
- Connect Doxie to your computer using its micro USB cable. Doxie's SD card will mount as a disk on your computer.
- Open a plain text editor. We recommend Notepad on Windows and TextEdit on macOS - if you're using TextEdit, make sure you have the Preferences set to plain text.
- Create a new text file containing the current date and time in YYYY/MM/DD/hh/mm format. Make sure to use four digits for the year and two digits for the month, day, hour, and minute. Seconds should not be specified.
- Save the text file as time.txt in the root level of Doxie's SD card. Make sure that it is in plain text format (.txt) and not rich text format (.rtf).
- Eject Doxie's SD card disk from your computer.
- Turn off Doxie, wait a moment, and then turn on Doxie. Doxie will set its internal clock from the text file and then automatically delete the file.
Doxie's internal clock requires battery power to retain accurate time. The clock may reset if Doxie's battery is fully discharged or removed.
