How long does Doxie's battery last?
Doxie Go lasts for about 100 scans in default 300 dpi (green) mode.
Doxie Go Plus and Doxie Go Wi-Fi last for about 300 scans.
If you're seeing less than this, here's some reasons that might be the case:
- 600 dpi: Scanning in 600 dpi (orange) mode takes much more energy. Expect about 60% of the rated battery life.
- Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi uses extra power. Turn off Wi-Fi when you're not using it.
- Battery depletion over time: All rechargeable batteries lose power over time, especially if unused, so if you charge up Doxie then leave it unused for weeks or months, some or most of the power may be lost. Leave Doxie plugged in to keep it charged.
- Leaving Doxie on: You can save power by turning off Doxie when you're not using it. Doxie automatically turns off after a few minutes if left unused.
- Doxie's power button is being pushed inadvertently: If you put Doxie in your bag and something pushes against the power button, Doxie might be turning on and off in your bag, depleting the battery over time.
Battery Status Indicators
Doxie's power light is orange while charging. You'll know Doxie is fully charged when the power light turns off.
If the power light blinks orange, the battery is running low, but you can keep scanning. When the battery is depleted, Doxie will turn itself off automatically. Scans are retained in memory regardless of the battery status.
Doxie Power Adapter
If you'd like to charge and scan simultaneously -- because USB doesn’t have enough power to let you do both -- use the included power adapter. The power adapter both powers and charges Doxie from any wall outlet. You can leave Doxie plugged in to keep the battery powered.
