Other Wi-Fi FAQs

How do I reset Doxie’s Wi-Fi configuration?

Hold down the Wi-Fi button for 15 seconds, then wait until Doxie’s blue light stops flashing.

If you were using direct mode and renamed your scanner, resetting Wi-Fi will revert the scanner back to the default name. You may need to turn your device's Wi-Fi off and on to see the scanner again.

How do I access the status of Doxie Go Wi-Fi's built in memory?

On your Mac or PC, check the status in Preferences > Wi-Fi > Get Info.

Can multiple devices wirelessly access Doxie?

Sure. Any device on the same network as Doxie can access your scans, so it'll work well for an office environment. (If you don't want to share, though, set a password.)

How do I set up Doxie with a non-wireless computer on my network?

Doxie must be configured with a computer that has built-in Wi-Fi. Assuming your computer has a wired connection to your network that also includes wireless devices, you can access Doxie with your wired computer via the network once it's been configured with a Wi-Fi enabled computer.

How do I wirelessly access an SD card?

You can't -- Doxie's wireless system can't read the SD card slot. Doxie has built-in memory that can be wirelessly accessed with space for up to 1,800 scans. (Most Doxie Go Wi-Fi customers don't use an SD card since there's plenty of space on internal memory.)

If you insert an SD card, your scans will be stored there instead, but you'll need to take out that card and insert it into your computer to access your scans.

How do I create a diagnostic file for Doxie Customer Care?

Join Doxie’s direct network, open Preferences > Wi-Fi in the Doxie software, select the scanner, then hold down the Option/Alt key. The Get Info button will change to “Debug,” which will save a data file of diagnostic data from the scanner. Provide us with this file.

Can Doxie join my wireless hotspot?

Doxie isn’t designed to join the hotspot created by your mobile phone, as these are intended to be temporary and to provide Internet access, not to provide access between local devices. Instead, join Doxie’s direct network when you want your scans on the go.

Should I join Doxie to all of my favorite networks?

Probably not. You can join Doxie to up to 5 networks, but we recommend no more than 2 or 3. The more you add, the longer it’ll take to start the Wi-Fi feature because it has to look for all your networks.

It’s not beneficial to join wireless networks at places where you don’t consistently plan to use your scanner. Add your home and office network, but instead of adding your local coffee shop and the network at the airport, just use Doxie’s direct network, instead.
