Scanning Tips
Some helpful tips
Doxie is a standalone scanner.
Doxie is a standalone device that stores scans on its built-in memory. Unlike traditional tethered document scanners, Doxie is designed for use only on its own. Only use Doxie while disconnected from your computer’s USB port.
Turn off Doxie when not in use.
To save energy, turn off Doxie when you're not using it – just hold down the power button for a moment.
Avoid staples, correction fluid, and crayon.
Don't damage Doxie with foreign objects and things that can stick on the image sensor.
Wi-Fi is for syncing – no need to turn it on when scanning.
If your Doxie Go has built-in Wi-Fi, there's a button on the back to enable or disable Wi-Fi. There's no need to turn on Wi-Fi while you scan – scans are stored in memory when you scan and later downloaded to your computer or mobile device. Read more about using Wi-Fi in the Mac/PC Apps and iOS Apps sections.
Paper feeding tips
Use Doxie's photo sleeve for glossy photos and small items.
Doxie includes a black photo sleeve to help protect and feed glossy photos. It's also great for small, old, or damaged items. Slip in your original, then insert the sleeve into Doxie's slot -- barcode first.
Trouble inserting a curled, wrinkled, or freshly printed sheet?
Sometimes there will be a bit of a curl to the end of a page -- this might make feeding tricky. Simply turn the page around and insert it from the other end for smooth scanning. You can easily rotate scans within Doxie's software.
Scan straight and level.
Don't insert sheets at a high angle. Insert paper to the left, face up, and level. Just hold the sheet in until Doxie starts feeding automatically. 🎥 Here's how.
Paper jam? Tap Doxie's button.
If you hear Doxie prefeed before you've fully inserted the page, remove it, and try again. If Doxie jams or stops during a scan, tap Doxie's button -- the sheet will be returned to you.
