Set a Password

You can set a password to prevent others on your network from accessing your scans.

To change the Wi-Fi password:

• Doxie Desktop App: In Preferences, click on the Wi-Fi tab, select your Doxie then click the Configure button to set a password.
• Doxie for iOS: Tap the "info" icon on the right of the scanner, then set a new password.

You can enter a password up to 30 characters, including alphanumeric characters and standard symbols except for the space character.

Once you set a password, Doxie software will prompt you to enter it when you try to access the scanner. If you are adding a network, use the username "doxie" and your password to access the webpage.

How does password protection protect my scans?

Doxie prevents any wireless interaction (except for Get Info) if protected by a password, offering casual wireless security for your scans against other users on your network.

Password protection is an easy way to protect your scans, but it doesn't offer security against users with physical access to your scanner.

How do I remove my password?

• Doxie Desktop App: Click the Password Change button. Enter your current password and leave the "New password" and "Verify" fields blank. Click Change Password to remove password functionality on your scanner.
• Doxie for iOS: Tap the "Password" field. Leave both fields in the pop-up dialog blank, then tap Change to remove password functionality on your scanner.

Reset Doxie to factory defaults by following these instructions. You won't lose any scans in memory.
