Paper Pad replacement

Do I need a replacement paper pad?

Doxie's paper pad is a rubber and metal pad that applies pressure to stacks of paper as they scan, allowing Doxie's automatic feeder and rollers to "grab" one sheet a time. It may need to be replaced if you start to see recurring feeding issues that did not routinely occur previously (specifically, double feeding or paper not starting to feed at all). We estimate that the paper pad has a 7,500 scan life before it needs to be replaced.

If you purchased Doxie Q before May 2017, the paper pad that came pre-installed with your scanner has a 3,000 scan cycle. All replacement paper pads have a 7,500 scan cycle and are fully compatible with your Doxie.

As the paper pad wears, a flat spot will form on the pad, as shown in this picture. If your pad has flattened out and you're seeing new issues with (specifically, double feeding or paper not starting to feed at all, replace the paper pad.

Install the paper pad

Doxie’s paper pad is rather fragile. Be careful not to bend the metal or impact the rubber surface during installation.

  1. Open Doxie's top cover, then open the interior cover by lifting up the center.
  2. Squeeze the two indicated tabs inward and pull up on the inner panel cover.
  3. Squeeze the two tabs on the side of the separation pad. Lift the pad up to remove it.
  4. Slide the new pad into the slot from above until you hear a snap-in sound.
  5. Close the inner panel cover and the interior cover.
